State Trooper Hurt Chasing Man Fleeing Stolen Car in Boston

A Massachusetts state police trooper was hurt early Tuesday morning while attempting to stop a man driving a stolen vehicle in Boston, authorities said.

The trooper was trying to stop a stolen Honda Civic on St. Alphonsus Street near Longwood Street about 4:22 a.m., but the driver refused to stop, state police said.

Minutes later, the driver got out of the car on McGreevey Way and attempted to run away on foot.

Troopers who chased man on foot were able to arrest him after a brief chase on McGreevey Way.

One trooper suffered a minor injury during the arrest and was taken to a Boston area hospital for treatment.

The suspect, Luis Llanso, 36, of Roxbury, was expected to be arraigned later in the day on charges related to the stolen motor vehicle, failure to stop, and resisting arrest. It's unclear if he had an attorney.
