A Massachusetts native is among the 12 people killed in a tour bus crash in Mexico earlier this week.
NBC affiliate WESH reports that 52-year-old Laura Couallier died alongside her husband, Christophe Couallier, 55, in the bus that was carrying tourists from a cruise ship to Mayan ruins when it flipped over on a narrow highway on Tuesday.
Couallier, who was living in Apopka, Florida, with her husband before their deaths, reportedly was an artist and graphic designer. Her aunt, Laurie Herrmann of Nantucket, told the Orlando Sentinel that she was a kind and wonderful person.
Eight of the people killed on the bus were from the United States, along with two Swedes, one Canadian and the bus' Mexican guide, according to Mexican tourism officials. The passengers were guests on the Royal Caribbean cruise ships Celebrity Equinox and Serenade of the Seas.
Thirteen others were injured, including three Americans, four Brazilians, three Canadians, two Swedes and the bus driver, who is custody.

The crash occurred as the bus was on its way to the ruins at Chacchoben, about 110 miles south of Tulum.
Prosecutors said a preliminary investigation indicates that the bus driver's negligence caused him to lost control, and when he tried to return back to a narrow highway, the bus flipped, struck a tree and landed in vegetation along the roadside.
Video images from the scene of the crash showed the bus on its side in vegetation off the two-lane highway, with some survivors lying on the pavement while others walked around.
