MBTA Bus Struck by Gunfire in Boston

Authorities are investigating how and why an MBTA bus in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood was struck by a bullet early Friday morning.

Boston Police and MBTA officials confirmed the Route 1 bus was struck by a bullet at the intersection of Albany Street and Melnea Cass Boulevard at about 12:15 a.m.

An NBC10 Boston crew saw the vehicle had a bullet hole in the front windshield.

Authorities said there were two people on board the bus at the time. No injuries were reported.

It's unclear if the bus was targeted.

No arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
