10 Years Later, MBTA Fatal Stabbing Case Remains Open

As the 10th anniversary of an unsolved fatal stabbing of a teen approaches, MBTA transit police officers are renewing their promise to find answers surrounding the teen's death.

On Dec. 31, 2008, 16-year-old Devonte Franklin was stabbed multiple times while riding an MBTA bus near Blue Hill Avenue and Harvard Street in Dorchester.

The person responsible for Franklin's death has still not been found, and police are encouraging the public to come forward with any information it may have about the case.

Police are asking people with details about the murder to contact the Transit Police Criminal Investigation Unit at 617-222-1050 or text 873873 or use the MBTA's See Say app to remain anonymous.
