Mike and Patty's Will Not Be Coming to Waltham After All

This summer, we reported that a beloved Boston dining spot that has received both local and national recognition might be coming to "restaurant row" in Waltham. Now we have learned that this will not be happening after all.

According to an article in Boston Magazine, plans for Mike & Patty's in Boston's Bay Village to expand to Moody Street in Waltham have fallen through, though owners Mike Gurevich and Ania Zaroda now have new plans--to open a food stall at Somerville's upcoming Bow Market called North South, which will feature roast beef sandwiches and bar pizza. Back in July, we heard that the husband-and-wife team were hoping to open a new restaurant on Moody Street where a furniture store had been, with the plan being to open the place by the end of the year if all went well. It is not known what might happen to the space now that the dining spot will not be moving in; as soon as we find out more, we will post an update here.

Mike & Patty's first opened on Church Street in Bay Village in 2008, with the eatery receiving much press about its breakfast and lunch sandwiches over the years, including Boston Magazine giving it a Best of Boston in both 2012 and 2014, while Yahoo and Thrillist had it on their short list of Best Breakfast Sandwiches in America for 2015 as well.
