MSPCA: Dead Dog Discovered Wrapped in Tarp in North Attleboro Parking Lot

Authorities are investigating a case of animal cruelty after a dead dog was discovered wrapped in a tarp in a parking lot in North Attleboro, Massachusetts earlier in the week.

Officials with the MSPCA-Angell said the female German Shepard was discovered Monday in the parking lot of Ruth Rhind recreational park on Huntsbridge Road.

Authorities believe the sable colored dog is between 5- and 8-years-old.

The dog was laying on a sheet and comforter and covered with a gray lightweight plastic tarp.

A necropsy is underway at the MSPCA's Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood to determine the exact cause of the dog's death.

Officials said the case is an active animal cruelty investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact North Attleboro police at 508-695-1212 or the MSPCA's law enforcement department at 617-522-6008.
