Americans have a love affair with their dogs, and that affection might only double the smaller the dog. PetBreeds, a search engine for pet owners, put together a list of the tiniest dog breeds, based on maximum height and weight of each breed. Here are 10 of the tiniest (and cutest) dog breeds out there.

Toy poodles are typically no more than 10 inches tall and 10 pounds in weight. They also shed the least, so if you have allergies, this little one might be a good option.
The Russian tsvetnaya bolonka has a maximum weight of 9 pounds, a height of 10 inches and a hard-to-spell name. It is known to be protective and affectionate, so it's a good pet choice if you have kids.
