Needham, Mass. Police Continue Search for Man Who Attempted to Lure Teen Into Car

A 16-year-old girl was walking Saturday in Needham when she was approached by a driver who demanded she get in his car

The search continues for a man who allegedly yelled at a 16-year-old girl to get into his car as she was walking in Needham, Massachusetts.

The encounter was reported at approximately 4:30 p.m. Saturday when the teenager was walking near the intersection of Hunnewell Street and Hillside Avenue. A vehicle described as a "newer" model white Land Rover Discovery passed the girl three times then yelled at her to get in the car, according to the Needham Police Department.

Jackie Sandler, a friend of the victim's family, described the teen as very sweet and expressed concern over the incident.

"It's really frightening because my daughter walks around everywhere and she's out at night," Sandler said. "Now, I don't even want her walking alone during the day."

Police advise Needham residents to look out for a man believed to be in his 20s or 30s and muscular. The suspect is also said to have brown hair, blue eyes and a tattoo on one of his upper arms.

One family that lives nearby is keeping their eyes peeled.

"I don't like it at all," said resident Richie McMahon. "This has always been a safe neighborhood, and a big reason why people move to Needham."

"It's pretty frightening to think it could happen in Needham," Sandler said.
