NH Doctor Facing Charges for Illegal Firearm, Engaging in Sex for Money

A New Hampshire doctor is facing charges after police in Auburn, Massachusetts say he was arrested Sunday night with an unlicensed firearm after allegedly engaging in sex with a woman for money.

Kang Lu, 42, of Spofford, New Hampshire, appeared Monday in Worcester District Court on charges of possession of a large capacity firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity feeding device, and engaging in sexual conduct for a fee. He was appointed a court attorney and ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Thursday.

Police said an officer saw a gray Toyota Prius without a working rear license plate light pulling out of the Starbuck's parking lot at 5:27 p.m. The vehicle then stopped in the parking lot of the nearby Arby's restaurant where the officer noticed a female passenger was also inside.

The driver was identified as Lu and the officer learned that he had just met the woman at a local motel where Lu had allegedly paid her money in exchange for sex.

Police said when Lu was asked to step out of his vehicle, a large fixed blade knife was observed on his left hip. Officers then asked him to raise his hands so they could handcuff him but said he did not comply. It was then officers reached to Lu's waist area where they located a loaded Glock handgun magazine.

Authorities said a further search of Lu revealed a Glock 9mm handgun stuck in his rear waistband area.

When he was asked if he had a license for the firearm, Lu told officers he was not required to possess one and could carry a firearm under the 2nd Amendment.
