Northern Spy to Open at Paul Revere Heritage Site in Canton

by Marc Hurwitz

A new restaurant is on its way to the southern suburbs of Boston, and it will be located at an historic riverside space.

The Tables section of The Boston Globe states that the group behind Loyal Nine in Cambridge will be opening Northern Spy in Canton, with the dining spot residing inside the copper rolling mill at the Paul Revere Heritage Site on Revere Street, just west of the center of town. The post says that the new restaurant will feature regional comfort food such as chowder, clam dip, crab on Parker House rolls, burgers cooked on a wood-fired hearth, and French fries that will be taken "very seriously," with lunch, dinner, and brunch being offered. If all goes as planned, Northern Spy could be opening sometime in September.

Paul Revere Heritage Site includes both the rolling mill and a barn, with an earlier Canton Citizen article mentioning that the complex may include a museum along with a park.

Loyal Nine, which first opened in the spring of 2015 on Cambridge Street, also features regional New England fare.

The address for this upcoming restaurant in Canton is: Northern Spy, 96 Revere Street, Canton, MA, 02021.
