Police in Norwood, Massachusetts are investigating a possible attempted child abduction from a school bus stop on Friday morning.
Norwood police said a female student reported that a vehicle drove up to her inside the Windsor Gardens complex and tried to engage her in conversation, but the child did not answer.
The male suspect then told the girl that her father had been involved in a car accident and her mother had called the man and asked him to bring the child to the hospital. The child, thinking that didn't sound right, fled to a nearby friend's house.
The vehicle is described as a white or silver SUV which police say was operated by a man with a close-cropped beard, possibly in his 30s.
The investigation is ongoing.
