October Rewind, Look Ahead to November

When it comes to the weather, October will be remembered for its drought busting rains and mild temperatures. We received 5.46” of rain in Boston, that’s 1.64” above average and the first monthly rainfall surplus since February — it’s also the most rain we’ve received in a month since December 2014. October was also a mild month. Temperatures were nearly 1.5° above average. We hit 80° once on the 19th.

It’s November — a month filled with big “weather” changes in Boston. The average high temperature drops from 51.5° to 41.2°. Sunsets get earlier thanks to Daylight Saving Time — starting 5:37 PM on November 1st to 4:13 PM on November 30th. Oh yes, it’s also the FIRST month of Fall that Boston averages some snow — 1.3” to be exact.
