Police Seek Suspect in Kidnapping, Sex Assault of 12-Year-Old in Webster

Officials have revealed new details in the case of a kidnapping in which a 12-year-girl was sexually assaulted in Webster, Massachusetts.

Authorities said the child was traveling to May Street Park on her bicycle Friday when she was approached by a man in a car. He lured her into the vehicle under the guise of needing help with a friend.

Officials believe the girl was taken to the state line in Connecticut, where she was sexually assaulted. It is believed she was then dropped off near Chase Avenue in Dudley. There, she ran to a nearby home and contacted her mother.

"In my 23 years, this is the first type of incident like this that we’ve had," said Webster Police Chief Michael Shaw at a news conference Tuesday.

Officials are searching for a black, two-door sedan with a light interior. The assailant is described as having blonde hair and a "skinny" face, according to police. He is described as having light facial hair growth at the time of the assault.

"If anybody may have seen something at the May Street Park we ask them to come forward," said Shaw.
