One teenager is dead and another is injured after the car they were in crashed late Friday night in Swansea, Massachusetts, police said.
Swansea police responded to a 911 call around 11:20 p.m. for a single-vehicle crash in the area of 171 Marvel Street. Responding officers found a Ford Fusion had left the roadway, striking a fire hydrant and utility pole.

The Ford driver, identified as 17-year-old Ethan Kielec, of Swansea, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Kielec's 17-year-old passenger was taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Police did not say what may have caused the fatal wreck. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing by the Swansea Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, and the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.
