Online Store Opens to Honor Slain Sgt. Sean Gannon and Hero Dog Nero

An online store has opened to honor the memory of the late Massachusetts police sergeant who was killed in the line of duty earlier this year.

The Gannon - Nero YPD Strong store opened Thursday and honors Yarmouth police Sgt. Sean Gannon as well as his dog Nero, who was injured.

The store features an array of clothing and plush animals, including one of Nero. Proceeds from the items will be used to build the Sergeant Sean M. Gannon Police K9 Training Complex at the Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters. Proceeds from the sale of the Nero plush animals will go to the Yarmouth Police Foundation.

Thirty-two-year-old Gannon was shot and killed in April while he and other officers were serving an arrest warrant on career criminal Thomas Latanowich at a home in Barnstable.

Nero was also shot in the face and neck. After undergoing surgery and recovery, he was cleared for normal activity.
