Overnight Fire in Roxbury Kills Man

The Boston Fire Department responded to a 2-alarm fire early Thursday morning in the city's Roxbury neighborhood that left one man dead.

The blaze occurred around 1:30 a.m. at 26 Catawba St.

The victim has only been identified at this time as an adult male. The cause of his death will be determined by the Chief Medical Examiner.

Five people were also displaced as a result of the blaze, and the Red Cross of Massachusetts was on scene to assist those who needed help.

Boston fire officials said that there is approximately $500,000 in damages.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
