Low pressure crossed southern New England last night with rain and fog at the shore to snow and ice inland. Shifting wind as low pressure pulled out may have caused a rapid cooling with wet areas becoming icy very fast.
Snow has moved away with many ski areas getting close to a foot of snow.
This morning, all the precipitation is over, with all of New England at or below freezing. Temperatures starting off 15-20 degrees, 20-30 degrees south, wind from the northwest increasing to 20-25 mph. Application of ice melt to walkways is most prudent this morning.
Sunshine and cold wind is here for our Thursday, high in the 20s to low 30s, wind from the northwest 20-30 mph adding an extra chill.

A combination of a cold front from the north and a warm front from the west brings a period of snow tomorrow night, maybe changing to rain at the south coast early Saturday. A coating to a few inches is possible.
Saturday is gray with mixed shower of rain south and snow north.
