Patriots Fans Are Ready for AFC Championship Game

Tony C's, like other sports bars in and around Boston, is expecting to be very busy Sunday night.

The excitement is coming to a head as kickoff for the AFC Championship game is less than an hour away, and Tony C's in Somerville, Massachusetts, is packed.

It's standing room only at the bar, and all of the tables are filled.

Rowdy Pats fans are enjoying a beer and good food with family and friends. There are even some Kansas City Chiefs fans who are just as loud.

"Last time I was here the Pats lost to the Steelers, so I think it's good luck for the Pats to lose," Shaniel Mallen, a Chiefs fan, said.

The Patriots will have a tough time competing in the cold, enduring the Kansas City crowd's noise and battling the Chiefs' sharp offense.

NBC10 talked to some Chiefs fans who say those circumstances alone may do the Patriots in.

However, Pats fans at Tony C's are confident their team is going to win.

"After the game with the Chargers, my confidence is back with the Patriots to say the least," Nick Karanccoulidis said.

"It's a great match up, but we all know we have Brady so I'm not even worried about it," Jason Harris said.

Tony C's, like other sports bars in and around Boston, is expecting to be very busy Sunday night.

Kickoff is at 6:40 p.m. EST Sunday.
