PD: Man Stole Vehicle, Used it in Armed Home Invasion

Police in Massachusetts are searching for a suspect they say stole a vehicle from a dealership and used it in an armed home invasion and armed robbery in Rhode Island.

Raynham police said they have an arrest warrant for 35-year-old Taunton resident Michael Gonzalez.

Gonzalez allegedly stole a Honda Civic from Silko Honda at 1580 New State Highway on Sept. 6. He allegedly took keys from the key box and drove the vehicle off the lot.

Cranston police said the vehicle was then used during an armed robbery on Saturday at the Pontiac Food Mart and an armed home invasion on Monday at a residence in town.

On Wednesday, the vehicle was spotted with stolen plates and officers began to pursue it. The chase ended in Providence after the vehicle crashed.

The driver, who police believe was Gonzalez, fled on foot along with his two passengers. They were picked up by a woman driving a dark-colored Honda minivan.

Anyone with information on Gonzalez’s whereabouts is asked to contact police.
