PD: Suspect Armed With Meat Cleaver Robs Store of Cash

Police say the suspect was armed with what was described as a meat cleaver

Police are looking for a robbery suspect who used a meat cleaver to make off with cash.

"That's just crazy! Who brings a meat cleaver to a convenient store to rob it? That's just crazy," one Seasons patron said.

According to Stoughton police, they responded to Seasons, a 24-hour gas station and convenience store on Sharon Street, just before 1 a.m. Sunday.

The suspect allegedly approached the store on a bicycle. He then chased the cashier behind the counter and forced the victim to empty the cash register.

Police say the suspect was armed with what was described as a meat cleaver.

The suspect made off with the cash, fleeing on his bike.

"Sounds like something he thought of at the last minute. A bicycle is not really  good get away vehicle," another Seasons patron said.

But the plan was good enough for the suspect to get away. Police brought in a K-9 unit but were unable to find the suspect.

Luckily, the clerk was not hurt in the incident.

"They're really friendly people. They're always willing to help you," another patron said.

The suspect is described as a 5'10" or 6' man with a thin build. He was dressed in all black and was wearing a black mask and gloves.
