Pedestrian Seriously Injured When Struck by Pickup in Raynham

A 62-year-old New Bedford man was airlifted to Rhode Island Hospital after he was struck by a vehicle while walking at the Raynham Flea Market parking lot.

Raynham police and rescue workers responded to the area of 1 Judson St. at 9:25 a.m. Sunday following a report of a pedestrian accident involving a pickup truck. Upon their arrive, police and firefighters found the victim lying down in the parking lot.

Officials said the man had serious injuries.

A Raynham Fire Department ambulance took the man to a landing zone near the flea market, and he was then airlifted by medical helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital.

The driver, identified only as a 75-year-old Raynam man, remained at the scene and was cooperating with police, according to authorities.

The incident remains under investigation Sunday afternoon.
