Man Seriously Injured in Lynn Hit-And-Run

Investigators are looking for a dark-colored sport utility vehicle, possibly blue or black, which may have front end damage

A Massachusetts man was taken to an area hospital Monday night with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car, state police said.

Troopers responded to the 330 block of the Lynnway on the southbound side just before 11:30 p.m. after getting calls reporting a pedestrian was struck.

The victim, a 55-year-old Lynn man, was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

Investigators are looking for a dark-colored sport utility vehicle, possibly blue or black, which may have front end damage, police said.

Police believe the vehicle was traveling northbound on the Lynnway when it struck the pedestrian and then fled on Market Street.

The investigation is active and being conducted by Troop A of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from the State Police Crime Scene Services Section and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
