Police: 2 in Custody After Vehicle Nearly Hits Officer in Cambridge

Two alleged shoplifters were arrested after police say they nearly hit an officer with a car outside a mall in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Police say 23-year-old Tiara Hunter of Boston's Dorchester neighborhood and 23-year-old Dominic Walker of Roxbury stole from a clothing store at the Cambridge Galleria. When they fled from officers in the mall around 5:30 p.m., they got into a Kia.

Walker allegedly started driving in an officer's direction, with the side mirror striking the officer's arm.

Police say the suspects drove away, leaving the car near Webster Avenue. Hunter was captured on Bristol Street, and Walker was later found on Webster Avenue.

According to police, the vehicle fled after driving toward an officer outside the Cambridge Galleria.

After police chased the vehicle, the driver and a passenger tried to get away on foot.

Police tweeted that a female suspect was taken into custody. Officials later confirmed to NBC10 Boston that a second person was also in police custody.
