A police chase that started in Worcester and went through multiple Massachusetts towns on Sunday ended with the arrest of five minors, Worcester police said.

Police said it all started when a Worcester police officer spotted an SUV with a license plate shared in connection with an investigation into an incident in which shots were fired.

The officer followed the vehicle on Grafton Street and tried to make a stop but the driver sped off, according to police. Officers followed for a distance but stopped near Massasoit Road.

They later were notified that the Millbury police spotted the vehicle and gave chase. Auburn police ultimately deployed stop sticks to disable it in their town. Officers from Auburn, Millbury, Oxford, Worcester and the Massachusetts State Police all responded to the scene.

Police said the five teens were removed from the vehicle and three handguns were discovered.

All five are facing gun charges. The driver of the vehicle is also being charged with operating to endanger, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and other motor vehicle charges.
