Police Called for ‘Altercation' Between High School Coach, Athlete

Police in Littleton, Massachusetts are investigating what they describe as an "altercation" between a high school coach and an athlete.

Police responded to Alumni Field on Russell Street shortly before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for reports of an altercation at a junior varsity lacrosse game.

Authorities did not release additional information describing the altercation, but say no one was injured.

Littleton Police are working with Littleton Public Schools "to sort out the facts about what occurred during yesterday’s game," acting Police Chief Matthew Pinard and Littleton Public Schools Superintendent Kelly R. Clenchy wrote in a joint statement on Wednesday.

Authorities say no charges have been filed pending the outcome of the investigation.

The name of the coach was not released.
