Police Investigate Hit-and-Run That Killed Nurse in East Brookfield, Massachusetts

A nurse was killed Sunday in a hit-and-run crash in East Brookfield, Massachusetts.

Police are investigating the death of Lisa Germain, who was killed during the storm around 6 p.m. on East Main Street.

"Blink of an eye, you didn't see nothing," said Jan Savage. "It was that quick."

Germain was killed in front of Savage's home. Germain was parked just steps away from Dunny's bar, where an employee says she was enjoying their well-known Blues Night.

Savage says after the crash, bar customers and a driver rushed to help.

"All I heard was a guy saying call 911. She was laying on the ground, he was feeling for her pulse saying she had a pulse, then saying 'I don't think she has a pulse anymore," Savage said.

Germain was a nurse in the Neonatal intensive care unit at MetroWest Medical Center.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Lisa Germain," the hospital said in a statement. "She was a great friend, mentor and team member. She will be deeply missed by everyone at MetroWest."
