Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Wednesday morning on a walking path near a high school in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Lawrence police and Massachusetts State Police could be seen in the parking lot behind Central Catholic High School on Hampshire Street around 2:30 a.m.
Lawrence police later confirmed two people were shot on the walking path that runs along the Spicket River in the Hampshire Street area. Both people walked to separate businesses in the area where they were treated by paramedics and EMTs before being taken by ambulance to Lawrence General Hospital.
Police did not say if anyone had been arrested, or what they believe may have led up to the shooting. An investigation is ongoing.
