Police are asking for the public’s help to find a driver who was involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Brockton Monday night.
It happened near 108 Forest Ave. around 10 p.m., The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office said. The victim was airlifted to Boston Medical Center where he died.
Family members have identified hm as 50-year-old Carlos Brito, saying the loss is devastating.
”He’s a former soccer player and coach. They love him in Brockton. He’s a very kind person. You know wants to help everyone laughs all the time," his uncle, Tattoo Lopes, told NBC10 Boston.

The circumstances of the accident are still unclear. It happened along this busy stretch of Forest Avenue in Brockton. It was dark, but police say the SUV most likely sustained damage on the front driver’s side.
"It was a woman standing outside the car just looking back and fourth and I looked across the street in the shadow and I saw a body in the street," Don Schoenfisch, who witnessed the aftermath, said.
Schoenfisch was at home when this all occurred Monday night. He said he checked the victim who was face down in the street struggling to breathe. Not long after that he noticed the female driver was gone.

"People were all over the place and at some point in the confusion she must’ve jumped in the car and took off," he said.
The Plymouth County DA is working with state and Brockton police to find the driver.
"We need to find out who that individual was and make sure that we hold them accountable for their actions of leaving a man in the road dead.”
Investigators are looking for a white SUV that was seen on surveillance footage. The vehicle likely has damage to the front driver's side.
Massachusetts State Police and Brockton police are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to reach out.
