Police in Massachusetts are on alert after receiving reports about an anonymous porn website featuring photos of local women who did not give their consent.
Attleboro Police say they received word about the site in late December and have since had to reach out two women who had no idea they had been exposed.
"Of course we find it concerning," Detective Lt. Timothy Cook said. "These people are being victimized without their knowledge."
Whoever is posting the images seems to have some knowledge about the women. Some of the posts include not just photos, but the names of women and where they live. Some are from the Attleboro area, as well as other cities and towns in Massachusetts.
The site, called Anon-V, is one of many that allows users to upload photos and videos anonymously without registration and without verification.
Attleboro is consulting with other local departments who are dealing with the same issue, as well as federal law enforcement. The fact that they tracked down the site's server to an island off the coast of Africa makes it even more difficult.
"They won't honor any warrants or issue to shut down from foreign law enforcement," Lt. Cook said.

For now, police are spreading awareness in hopes of sending a warning to anyone thinking of sending inappropriate photos without consent. They are monitoring the site and working with the victims to get their photos taken down. Anyone found to be a contributor could face charges.
