Quincy Bank Robbery Ends With 2 Arrested in Nearby Home, Police Say

"It was intense," said one of the neighbors who witnessed police negotiate with the suspects

A suspected bank robber was arrested Tuesday at a home nearby in Quincy, Massachusetts, where a woman was also taken into custody.

Police said officers received a call for an alarm at the TD bank on Adams Street at about 11 a.m.

"There was one male suspect that alluded to a firearm - said that he was armed. He passed a note, money was exchanged, at that point he fled the bank. Our officers responded," Quincy Police Chief Paul Keenan said.

Authorities tracked the man to a nearby home on Loring Street and tried to get him to come outside, officials said. A SWAT team was called in while authorities negotiated.

"At that point, we surrounded the house. We made contact with the people inside. They both came out peacefully," Keenan said.

Some neighbors who overheard the negotiations stretch over an hour said it was a tense situation.

"Just telling everyone to come out with their hands up and that it was the Quincy police. It was intense," one neighbor recalled.

Police arrested Malcolm Hall, 30, on a charge of armed robbery and Ebony Murray, 27, on a charge of accessory after the fact, interfering with a police investigation, and disorderly person.

Both were expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Quincy District Court. It wasn't immediately clear if they had attorneys who could answer to the charges.

The SWAT team entered the house after the arrests to make sure it was safe and that nobody else was inside. Police planned to apply for a search warrant to search for further evidence of the bank robbery.
