Rain and wind from last night are racing away from New England this morning. That was the remnant of former Hurricane Nate. Now we have the backside breeze coming out of southeastern Canada, with sunshine and less humid air. But the air is still warm to record warm with highs near 80 degrees today.
Wind from the northwest at 10 to 20 miles per hour with the humidity falling, we end up with dew points in the 40s and 50s by this afternoon.
High pressure from southeastern Canada comes right over us with sunshine to start our Wednesday. The system that brought close to half a foot of snow near Denver yesterday is weakening in the Midwest tonight into tomorrow.
Clouds and a few showers will arrive here in New England late tomorrow and early Thursday. The system will be very weak by the time it gets here, so we're not expecting anything more than a trace to tenth of an inch of rainfall, which is mostly finished by sunrise Thursday.
The high-pressure system will be in control, centered to our north, which means the wind from the east and northeast with cooler, more seasonable air, high in the 60s Thursday and Friday.
This weekend will feature a strong storm moving across Ontario, that will likely drive in the wind from the southwest with record high temperatures possible once again. If we get enough sunshine and the wind stays from the west, we may be looking at 80 degrees again. However, we may have to watch for a back door front that could cool us off with some showers later Sunday. Either way, it should turn cooler again by Monday.
