FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Red Sox' lineup for Friday's spring training opener vs Northeastern is set. Well, most of it anyway.
During his press conference Thursday at JetBlue Park, manager Alex Cora revealed who will be playing.
"Blake [Swihart] is catching, Christian [Vazquez] is DH'ing, [Tzu-Wei] Lin is at short, [Bobby] Dalbec is at third. [Chad] De La Guerra is at second, [Sam] Travis is at first, [Tate] Matheny is playing somewhere in the outfield, and then [Cole] Sturgeon is playing one of the outfield, and then to be determined," Cora told reporters.
But who's pitching?
"Pitchers, we got [Mike] Shawaryn, [Darwinzon] Hernandez, [Domingo] Tapia, and [Josh] Taylor," said Cora.

As for the regulars, more of them begin making appearances on Sunday.
"I think Nunie [Eduardo Nuñez], [Brock] Holt, [Rafael] Devers, Benny [Andrew Benintendi], they might show up on Sunday most likely," Cora said. "Mookie [Betts] will be in the split-squad (Wednesday). Mitch [Moreland] might be Sunday, [Steve] Pearce will be in both games actually Monday and Tuesday because he has a house up there, so we'll make sure the ticket sales go up and he'll be around. Yeah, I mean little by little we'll make sure they start getting their at-bats."
The Red Sox will follow up Friday's matchup vs Northeastern with a game against the Yankees on Saturday at JetBlue Park. No lineup was revealed for that one, but the pitchers likely will be Carson Smith, Marcus Walden, Travis Lakens, Erasmo Ramirez, and "some hard-thrower from the minor leagues that's going to shock everybody," per Cora.
