A new French restaurant and cafe is opening in the Back Bay of Boston, replacing a dining and drinking spot that once had two of the region's best-known chefs behind it.
According to an article from Boston Magazine, Rochambeau is replacing Towne Stove and Spirits at the Hynes Convention Center on Boylston Street, with Patrick Lyons and the Lyons Group being behind the place. The Lyons Group had also been behind Towne, which first opened in 2010 and had Lydia Shire and Jasper White initially overseeing the menu, and as hinted at early last month just after Towne's closure, Patrick Lyons wanted to debut a new concept in the space. The post mentions that Rochambeau will actually include two different concepts, with the main restaurant being a brasserie with such items as steak frites and coq au vin while the other section will be a cafe that offers breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks, with croissants and cafe au lait being two options. (An outdoor patio will also be set up along Boylston Street.)

If all goes as planned, Rochambeau could be opening sometime in May.
