A network of pet sitters and dog walkers has announced their top dog names of 2018. Rover.com announced the list on their website after going through their database of more than 1 million dog names.
Rover has a national list of dog names and also a list for the top dog names in Boston.
The top 5 male dog names are:
- Charlie
- Max
- Cooper
- Teddy
- Buddy
The top 5 female dog names are:
- Bella
- Luna
- Lucy
- Lola
- Daisy
Rover said sports-related names in Boston increased by 21 percent this year. Names inspired by baseball like Fenway and Sox are up 90 percent.
The top sports names for dogs have increased:
- Brady up 8 percent
- Gronk up 23 percent
- Manny up 220 percent
Rover said the name Chowder rose by 500 percent.
