A crash involving a sander truck and two vehicles shut down a portion of Route 24 in Fall River, Massachusetts Thursday morning.
The crash happened on the southbound side of the highway, after Wilson Road, at about 6 a.m.
Traffic had to be diverted to Route 79 while the scene was cleared.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDot) said the sander appeared to have lost a tire and rolled over in the crash.
There were reports of injuries but the number of those hurt or the extent of their injuries was unclear.
The exact cause of the crash is under investigation.
