Mass. Massage Business Owner Accused of Raping 4 Clients

A Massachusetts massage business owner is accused of raping at least four female clients, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Josh Bohrer, a 37-year-old man who runs Karma Body Work out of his Somerville apartment, was indicted Tuesday on rape charges in connection with the assaults of two customers at his business, according to Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan. He was arraigned in March on two counts of rape and one count indecent assault and battery in incidents with two different clients.

In each incident, Bohrer is accused of inappropriately touching first-time customers during their massages.

After being arraigned in connection to the first two victims' allegations, Bohrer was freed on personal recognizance, but not allowed to serve any female clients.

Months later, on Nov. 6, a third female client said Bohrer sexually assaulted her on Oct. 31. He has been held without bail since his arrest the following day, and a fourth woman came forward on Dec. 8. That alleged incident took place on Sept. 29.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Somerville Police Department's Family Services Unit at 617-625-1600 Ext. 7237.
