Spotty Showers Today, More Rain on the Way Sunday Evening

For our Saturday afternoon, clouds will continue to build in from the west with a few spotty showers

It was another sun-filled start for most of southeastern New England, but the clouds and the showers started to pop-up for north and western New England shortly after sunrise. For our Saturday afternoon, clouds will continue to build in from the west with a few spotty showers. These will be hit or miss and fast-moving, so if you have any outdoor plans for the afternoon and evening, just be mindful that we could be dodging a few raindrops. High temperatures today will range from near 60 into the lakes and mountains region of northern New England to the upper 60s in southern New England under otherwise partly to mostly cloudy skies.

Saturday night, any lingering showers slide off the coastline and clouds dissipate in coverage, so we have partly sunny morning before more clouds stroll in ahead of our next system. This next system is bringing rain to Wisconsin & Michigan today and will continue to traverse the Great Lakes Region before entering western New England by Sunday evening. Showers start in western New England by dinner time Sunday before spreading eastward through the rest of this evening. This system will continue to spin over us through Monday, with rain still with us on Tuesday as the system departs. With the soggy and cloudy start to the week, temperatures will only reach into the lower 60s, with some spots in northern New England barely reaching out of the 50s. Temperatures start to rebound as early as Wednesday, with Thursday being the day that we return to the 70s.

For the extended forecast, we continue the warm-up into next weekend, with a possibility of seeing some 80s back on the board. In the meantime, we have to muddle through the soggy & cool start to the week before reaching to more seasonable, summery norms.
