Summer Temps Provide Gorgeous Close to Weekend

A gorgeous end to the weekend is approaching with lots of sun and summer-like temperatures. Highs will reach the upper 70s and low 80s, great beach weather if you don’t mind water temps in the low 60s. Clouds will increase tonight ahead of our next disturbance that moves in from the Midwest, which leaves us with a chance for showers over Southern New England to start the week.

Cooler temperatures move in behind the front both Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the upper 60s. Canadian high pressure will remain in control until Thursday and then, as it moves east, our wind will shift to the southwest, allowing for the warmth to return just in time for the weekend.Highs Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be around 80 degrees with a slight chance for rain Saturday night into Sunday. The first day of fall arrives next Monday and as of now, temperatures will be fall-like with highs in the 70s.

In the tropics, Humberto continues to gain strength as it moves away from The Bahamas and heads towards Bermuda by Wednesday as a category two hurricane. The current forecast keeps it away from New England, but it could impact Nova Scotia by the weekend. There’s another disturbance in the Eastern Atlantic that has a high chance of becoming a tropical depression next week so we will continue to keep a close eye as these systems develop and move closer to the Caribbean.
