Massachusetts State Police are investigating the cause of a fatal crash involving an SUV and a tractor-trailer truck Wednesday morning near the Massachusetts Turnpike in South Boston.
Troopers responded to the crash at 7:08 a.m. on Haul Road near the intersection of the exit 25 off-ramp from Interstate 90 where the driver of a Nissan Rogue somehow failed to stop at a red light.
Authorities said the 59-year-old driver of the SUV entered the intersection and crashed into the truck.
The driver, who has not yet been identified, was taken to Tufts Medical Center and later pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police.
