Sweet Tomatoes in West Newton Has Reopened

A West Newton pizza shop that was the site of a fatal SUV crash last year is open once again.

According to an article from CBS Boston, Sweet Tomatoes on Washington Street has reopened, with the place giving out free slices to city police officers, firefighters, and EMTs on Monday, while a Facebook post says that "We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all the Newton responders." In March of 2016, an SUV drove through an intersection and into the front of the eatery at dinnertime, killing two people and injuring seven others; because of the accident, crash-resistant safety bollards are now set up outside the dining spot as protection against this happening again.
