First Alert continues Tuesday for a heat advisory, and the threat for thunderstorms.
We had a few strong storms pop up Monday afternoon with temperatures that reached up to 95 degrees during day two of what looks to be a three or four-day heat wave. Tuesday marks the third day of that heat wave.
Also, there is a threat for a thunderstorm on Tuesday and they can pop up just about anywhere at any time. Storms are few and far between but can pack a punch for at least a few minutes.
Temperatures in the afternoon will hit near 95 degrees in a lot of spots, with a heat index close to 100 degrees. That is the combined temperature and humidity levels.
A weather front that is going to break the heat starts to enter the picture Tuesday evening with some more widespread thunderstorms in eastern New York. That may make it into Vermont before dissipating overnight. Lows tonight in the 70s south and 60s north.
The front is right over New England Wednesday, so the threat for thunderstorms exists just about everywhere. Temperatures once again get close to 90 degrees in southern and eastern New England. The humidity will remain very high with the dew point near 70 degrees or even higher.

The front barely makes it offshore early Thursday, so the day may start off warm and humid but gradually turn less humid as the day goes on. In Western New England, a thunderstorm threat should be gone, but it may still end up showering with some storms from Cape Cod to Eastern Maine.
High pressure from Canada pushes in Thursday night and Friday, with a return to more seasonable temperatures in the low to mid 80s, and humidity levels coming down appreciably. That weather should be with us throughout most of the weekend.
