WATCH: 1st Episode of Tom Brady's New Facebook Documentary

A new documentary series delving into the personal life of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady premiered on Facebook on Thursday.

"Tom vs Time," a six-episode series filmed by Gotham Chopra for Facebook's video platform, Facebook Watch, focuses on the star quarterback preparing for the 2017 season, exploring his battle against time on the gridiron and how he balances his personal life.

The first episode is about 15 minutes long and starts by showing Brady interacting with his family at home this past October.

"In the end, my life's focused around football," he said. "It always has been, it always will be as long as I'm playing. I've given my body, my everything, every bit of energy for 18 years to it. So if you're gonna compete against me, you better be willing to give up your life, because I'm giving up mine."

Brady gives fans a look inside his home office, showing where he keeps some of his game footage and memorabilia, including the letter the suspension letter he received from the NFL during the "Deflategate" saga.

The quarterback also narrates highlights from last year's historic Super Bowl comeback against the Atlanta Falcons and shows off his Super Bowl rings.

"That was a big one for my family," he said of last year's championship. "That was a very trying year. Missing the month of September, knowing what all of my family put into it, I think to end it the way we ended it, to celebrate the way we celebrated it was a year I'll never forget for so many reasons."

The final five minutes or so of the episode shows Brady working out at his TB12 Sports Therapy Center.

The final scene shows Brady's wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, trying to console Brady as they drive home after the season-opening loss to Kansas City.

"We were just so (expletive)," Brady says.

"You're not... you just were not in sync yet," Gisele responds. "You don't know each other. It's like building a relationship. The first time you meet somebody, you're not going to be their best friend. It takes time to get to know people. They're gonna get to know your looks and the way you play and the way you do things and you're going to get to know them. It's gonna be awesome. I know it... OK?"

The episode release schedule is as follows: episode one on Thursday, Jan. 25, at noon; episode two on Sunday, Jan. 28; episode three on Tuesday, Jan. 30; episode four on Thursday, Feb. 1; episode five on Sunday, Feb. 4. The release date for the sixth and final episode has not been disclosed yet.

In announcing the project, Brady said he has been thinking about doing something like this for a long time, and the opportunity came up to partner with Facebook and Chopra.

"I think we captured something special in this and I am proud of the entire team of people who worked hard to make it happen," he said. "The docu-series is intimate, in-depth and more personal than anything I've released on my social channels, so I think it will be a great way of extending my reach to people on Facebook Watch."

Chopra said the goal of the project "was to understand the anatomy of that greatness" Brady has exhibited on the field over the past 18 seasons.

The Patriots will play the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII on Sunday, Feb. 4 at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis as the team continues its quest for a sixth Super Bowl championship.
