Tom Brady and Michael Strahan have raised $3 million for their digital production company, called Religion of Sports Media Inc., according to a document filed Tuesday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The investment round is being co-led by CourtsideVC and Norwood-based Advancit Capital, according to a spokesperson for Religion of Sports. Advancit, which invests in media and technology companies, was co-founded by Viacom Inc. director Shari Redstone. CourtsideVC, which is based in New York and Detroit, also invests in sports, technology and media.

The company would not share more details about what the money will be used for, teasing bigger announcements in the coming months.

Religion of Sports, the company, grew out of a documentary series by the same name that has aired two six-episode seasons on DirecTV Now. The series explores the spiritual side of sports around the world. The company also produced Brady’s Facebook video series “Tom vs. Time,” as well as documentaries about Kobe Bryant and Victor Cruz.

Brady and Strahan, a former New York Giants defensive end-turned-talk show host, officially launched the company in February with Gotham Chopra, the son of Deepak Chopra, and Ameeth Sankaran, a Texas-based investor.
