Trey Flowers Appears to Hint at Return to Patriots During Speech at AHL Game

Set to earn a pretty penny in free agency, Trey Flowers' tenure with the Patriots very well could be over.

But for Pats fans looking for reasons to believe the supremely talented edge rusher will re-sign, look no further than his speech at Saturday's Springfield Thunderbirds AHL game in Springfield, Mass.

During the pregame ceremony, Flowers brought out the Lombardi Trophy from New England's Super Bowl LIII victory over the Rams. The 25-year-old addressed fans with an impassioned speech, which included an interesting statement.

"This is No. 6. We want seven."

It's far from an official commitment to the Patriots, but it's an encouraging message nonetheless.

Regardless of where Flowers signs, one thing is for sure: the man is about to get paid.
