Two-Alarm Blaze Damages Beacon Street Building

Fire left about $500,000 in damage

Boston firefighters extinguished a two-alarm blaze Saturday night at a Beacon Street building.

The fire broke out around 7:15 p.m. Firefighters said residents evacuated the building quickly. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters located the fire source in walls between the second and third floor of the building at 168 Beacon St. Fire officials estimated about $500,000 worth of damage by the time the fire was put out.

The cause of the fire was unavailable.
