Two Batches of Rain Start Your Week ,Wet Conditions May Last Through Midnight

Showers will continue to move in Monday as a warm front lifts through the region.

The first round brings light rain early afternoon while the second batch will impact the evening commute with moderate rain. Wet conditions may last until midnight.

This isn’t a system with huge amounts of rain, rainfall totals will remain below one inch. The wind will increase this afternoon and especially towards the Cape and Islands, where there’s also a slight risk for strong winds that could reach up to 50 mph and cause some power outages.

Highs Monday happen late, as the mercury will rise into the 60s in the evening. It is a nice bump in the temperatures after a cool fall weekend.

The second half of the week is trending quite chilly. A chance for snow showers over higher elevations in Northern New England will be on Wednesday as a cold front will slide south from Canada and behind it. A strong upper-low captures some of the coldest air of the season circulating around Hudson Bay.

Highs on Thursday will struggle to make it into the 50s. Temperatures will be 20 to 25 degrees below average, so prepare for a chilly day. This may also spell multiple frosts – or even freezes - in the suburbs by week’s end, indicating an end to the growing season.
