Woman Throws Out Fenway First Pitch Celebrating Triumphant Return to Lacrosse Field after Losing Her Leg

UMass Lowell lacrosse player Noelle Lambert of Londonderry, N.H., threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Boston Red Sox game on Friday night.

Lambert was invited to do so in recognition of her return to the lacrosse field last weekend after a two-year hiatus following a moped accident that caused her to lose her leg.

Her return to competitive lacrosse during last weekend's game -- in which she scored a goal -- was assisted by the prosthetic leg she received through the Heather Abbott Foundation, launched by a survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing.
