Showery and Humid Weekend Ahead

Heat wave ends with thunderstorms, now onto a couple days of June's Finest.

Thunderstorms brought damaging winds to the Boston area last night as a cold front traversed across the area.

Wind damage was reported in South Boston, Somerville, Cambridge and Medford. There were also reports of pea-sized hail at Boston's Logan International Airport. Downed trees and wires were also reported in Quincy, Hull, Hingham and Weymouth.

High pressure from Canada noses into the region today, ushering in a much drier and cooler air mass. Expecting sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 70s. High pressure remains in control overnight.

Expecting a mostly clear night with lows dipping into the upper 40s to low 50s. A few of the typically cooler locations during clear nights like Norwood, Taunton and Martha’s Vineyard may reach the mid 40s.

Another stellar day on Thursday with continued dry weather and cooler temperatures in the mid 70s. A return flow around exiting high pressure system brings warm and humid air back into New England on Friday.

Expecting some showers to move through during the afternoon. A warm front approaches the region on Saturday, bringing showers and some thunderstorms with it. Highs on Saturday reach into the mid 70s.

On Sunday, showers and humidity persist with a warm front just south of New England with highs slightly warmer near 80 degrees. A cold front finally approaches New England on Monday.

Expecting mostly cloudy skies with highs reaching either side of 80 degrees across the south and upper 70s north. Showers and thunderstorms may develop late in the day.

Cold front slowly traverses across New England on Tuesday. Expecting a chance of showers during the day. Highs on Tuesday reach near 80 degrees.
