The office of the Boston City Councilor At-Large, Michelle Wu, will have open office hours to interact and listen to neighbors concerns and the issues that are affecting them in Dorchester. Wu’s liaison, Annie Lee, will be at the Fields Corner’s Home.stead bakery on Wednesday, July 11th from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. Stop by and say hello!
Celebrate Riverfest! On Saturday, July 14th head to Neponset Park (at the corner of Granite Ave. and Hilltop St.) from 10am – 2pm. Celebrate the Neponset River and the beautiful parks and pedestrian paths along the shore, along with the natural salt marshes and wetlands that support more than 200 species of birds, fish and other wildlife.This is a family-friendly, public event. We encourage you to bring a blanket and a picnic, and spend the day! Try out a kayak or canoe courtesy of Paddle Boston, explore a tidepool with the New England Aquarium, have a WILD time with Zoo New England or attend a fishing clinic with the Mass Division of Fisheries & Wildlife. There will be food trucks, live music and arts and crafts as well as the spray park for the kids to cool off. Bring the bikes and go for a cruise along the protected paths of the riverway. Mix and mingle! A neighborhood event for all Dorchester residents and advocates! Remember the days when we used to hang out with neighbors and with no need of cellphones and social media? Well, let’s come together like old times! A group of local residents are coming together with partners from the region to bring a networking night to informally discuss how to ensure Dorchester’s growth remains affordable, walkable, and vibrant for all of us and future generations. This is an evening to socialize, network and learn from each other’s vision for our neighborhood. Let’s build alliances among residents and organizations committed to maintaining Dorchester as affordable and vibrant for all! The event will take place on Thursday, July 12th 2018 from 6:30PM to 9:30PM at The Blarney Stone (1505 Dorchester Ave, Dorchester MA 02122). It’s free and open for all, and you can RSVP here.
