Weekend Stunner

This is it folks.

The last round of 70+ weather of the season. Sure, we might spike to 70 again next month (or even in December - don't laugh, we've done it before), but as far as a string of 70+ days with dominating sun, it ain't gonna happen.

The pattern that has brought record-breaking temperatures, the warmest October on record (so far) for almost a dozen locations, and a deepening drought, is about to switch up. A vigorous front will be sliding in by the middle of next week, and the heavy rain that sets up along it will soak us down in true autumn fashion.

Behind the front, cooler (but not cold) air will shuffle in as the pattern remains more seasonable.

In the meantime, a super weekend is laid out before us. Sun will rule both weekend days with a slant toward brighter weather on Saturday. Humidity will start to climb as the winds turn more southwest. By Monday and Tuesday, the air will be heavy with moisture as the rain inches out of the Midwest.

Right now the timing puts the heaviest rain through here on Wednesday night and early Thursday, but there are signs that we could drag this affair out through Thursday night as well. This far out, I'm antsy about throwing numbers down, but I expect 1-2" of water may be at stake. Plenty of time to work out the kinks in the forecast.

Enjoy, be safe and rest up!
